Other things I hate:  The jury duty department of LA county because after being on hold for one hour (luckily I'm on a cell so I could do things like laundry and repack my backpack and sort mail), they alert me - with 24 people in front of me, down from 67 - that they "are no longer able to take my call and I should call back later if I need help."

At this point, I should just switch my residency cause I don't think that has any bearing on my actual residency?  Just it will get me out of jury duty?  I think?

Note: I'm not opposed to jury duty in theory, and if I had a real job, then I'd be down for it, but making people mess around with their schedules and not pay them anything for it except like... $11 a day if you get put on an actual jury, you don't get anything for just showing up at the courthouse to be part of the pool, is absolutely ridiculous, and only people who have employers that are nice that treat jury duty as a day you've worked have any benefit whatsoever.

Heck, if I could volunteer for jury duty when it's convenient, I wouldn't mind.  But the whole "yeah I'm in school so I need a deferral, but I need one for longer than three months" thing is just...

*sigh* Just another thing I needed today on top of having to deal with another flight because of yesterday's issues.

So I guess I'll get to commenting and reading and all that on Sat/Sun...
